The event that is to take place on Wednesday involved a team of 1,200 people who are now working on assembling the stage for the concert, 100 equipment trucks, an audience estimated at more than 70,000 people, and revenues from tickets – unconfirmed by the organizing company, Emagic! – worth over €4 million.

In terms of both the number of people expected to come to the concert and the budget – almost equal to the value of the entire Romanian concert market, Madonna’s concert is the biggest event of its kind that took place in Romania to date. The value of the Romanian concert market was estimated at €5 mln in 2008.

The tickets to Madonna’s concert cost between RON 120 (€28) and RON 800 (€189), and more than 80 percent of them have already been sold. Madonna is considered to be the richest singer in the world, with $1 billion (€0.7 bln) gained in 25 years of her career. She made $110 mln (€77 mln) from musical activities between June 2008 and June 2009, according to the Forbes Top.

Part of the Vodafone Best Music series, promoted by Live Nation, and organized by Emagic!, Madonna’s concert on 26 August is part of the Sticky&Sweet Tour for promoting the “Hard Candy” album. Sticky&Sweet Tour is already considered the best-sold solo artist tour in history: last year the tour gathered over 2.3 million spectators in 58 cities.
