“Market growth was only for retail, with corporate subscriptions subject to a slow evolution,” according to a declaration for Business Standard by Mihai Marcu, President of MedLife, one of the largest suppliers of medical services, who believes that the advance on the private health care market will be 15 percent in euro in 2009.
MedLife estimates turnover this year worth €26 million, 20 percent higher in euro year-on-year.
The representatives of another supplier of medical services, Sandaro, estimate an increase in business in 2009, by 35 percent year-on-year, and advance of some 20 percent at market level. “We have not yet closed the year. We are expecting a drop in the rhythm of growth by the end of the year, although the months of October and November have proven us wrong,” said Florin Andronescu, founder of Sanador.
Sergiu Negut, Chief Executive Officer of Unirea Medical Center (CMU) said that the main trend in 2009 has been an increase in retail, or the so-called “fee for service,” segment. Most companies registered a drop in revenues, while others have reduced employees. Many small companies have gone bankrupt.
