According to estimates by representatives of insurance companies and brokers, some 200,000 agents are working on this market, which means they should spend about RON 300 million (€70.2 mln) to offer their employees the necessary equipment. However, insurers say that investments will be much lower at the market level, as companies will sell RCA policies at their own offices.
“Not all employees absolutely need a laptop and printer, because policies will be issued directly at the offices of companies,” said Bogdan Andriescu, President of the National Union of Insurance Brokerage and Consultancy Societies from Romania (UNSICAR).
According to the head of the Auto Insurance office of Generali, Radu Ionescu, Romania is the first country in Central and Eastern Europe to apply such a system.
