Business solutions limit Microsoft Romania business decline to 12%

Calin Tatomir, Microsoft, România

This fiscal year was the most difficult since the company began operations in Romania, given that budgets were made before the crisis hit the country. “At the end of the first part of the [fiscal] year, we were still foreseeing growth. The drop in PC sales, the depreciation of the leu, the decline of the retail industry, and the delayed adoption of the state budget – all these, amid global uncertainty – led to a difficult period,” the company’s General Manager, Calin Tatomir, told Business Standard.

Microsoft Romania’s strategy this year is focused on securing a higher market share. Furthermore, the company is seeking ways to cut costs.
