The previous four managers, Deputy General Manager Ion Sturza, Vice Chairman for service and support companies Eric Kish, the group’s Operating Manager Dan Ionescu, and Chief Financial Officer Adrian Petrus were replaced by KazMunaiGaz at the end of last week.
All four were close to businessman Dinu Patriciu, Romania’s wealthiest individual. A press release issued by Rompetrol, confirming information regarding these changes and published by Business Standard as early as last week, indicates that the “new [management] team is formed by Saduokhas Meraliyev (General Manager), Andre Naniche (Deputy General Manager), Alibek Zhilbayev (Head of Trading Division), Yerzhan Orynbassarov (Head of Corporate Development and Industrial Service Division), and Dmitry Grigoryev (Chief Financial Officer).”
As of 1 August, Rompetrol’s activities will be regrouped in five operating sectors, namely: retail, refining and petro-chemical; trading; corporate development, and industrial services – which will include marketing and communication, human resources and legal; finances and corporate center.
