The SIF sector on BSE climbs 2.4% at closing bell, pending decision on the ownership threshold

Deals with shares totaled 37.29 million lei at day-end.

The BET index reflecting the evolution of the ten best companies on the market inched 0.22 percent to 5,127.53 and the BET-C composite index assessing all listed shares minus financial companies soared 0.44 percent to 3,007.42.

The BET-FI index of the five financial companies SIF jumped 2.37 percent to 29,668.75, level unreached since September 2008, while the ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna increased 0.19 percent to 10,491.31.

The BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid companies added 0.89 percent to 525.68 and the BET-NG index showing the evolution of the power market gained 0.54 percent to 660.80.

SIF shares were the most liquid this session as the judicial commission of the Chamber of Deputies should make a decision on the ownership threshold for the five financial companies. SIF Oltenia (SIF5) grew 1.25 percent to 1.62 lei and SIF Moldova (SIF2) advanced 1.46 percent to 1.39 lei.

On the banking sector, Banca Transilvania (TLV) lowered 1.87 percent to 2.10 lei, as its net profit plunged six times last year over the previous to 61.94 million lei. BRD SocGen (BRD) rose 1.35 percent to 15 lei.

Romania’s top oil company Petrom (SNP) idled at 0.2840 lei per share and drilling company Dafora Medias (DAFR) boosted 3.39 percent to 0.1220 lei.
