Thus, sales of Vodafone’s online store will increase as electronic trade develops on the local market, considering that the number of Romanians who shop online is still far below the European average, and fear of transactions paid by card has not yet disappeared, Stephanie Jackson, Senior Director Online Services of Vodafone Romania, told Business Standard.
“Right now, the universe of people buying online is very small in Romania. So, our goal is to convince people who do not buy online at all to buy online. Our goal is not to convince people who buy from other stores to come to my store. We have to convince the people who come to vodafone.ro to complete the transaction. I am not so much trying to take away Orange customers or to take away eMag customers, because they are all good in their own way on the market,” Jackson said.
“The Romanian buyers are still afraid to shop online. It is a trust factor. So, in terms of actual number of completed transactions, Romania is still one of the lowest countries in the EU. But just like in the other countries, in time you do get more trust,” the Vodafone official added.
